Trump crypto summit
WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump will host a “crypto summit” on Friday, David Sacks, White House czar of artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency, announced last week.
Sacks posted on social media platform X that Trump will speak at the event, which he wrote will be attended by prominent founders, CEOs and investors of the cryptocurrency industry.
Three days after Trump began his second term, he said the U.S. was going to become the world capital and a “manufacturing superpower” of cryptocurrency. It was going to happen through the declaration of a “national energy emergency,” which would unlock “liquid gold” under the country and “pave the way” for rapid approvals of new energy infrastructure, according to the president.
That same day, Trump issued an executive order to form an “internal working group” that would make the U.S. the “world capital on crypto.” That group would evaluate the potential creation and maintenance of a “national digital asset stockpile,” according to the president. https://thetodayupdates.com/michigan-state-vs-wisconsin-live-score-updates-highlights-how-to-watch-big-ten-game/
On Sunday, Trump posted on social media platform Truth Social that a federal cryptocurrency reserve would help the industry.
“A U.S. Crypto Reserve will elevate this critical industry after years of corrupt attacks by the Biden Administration, which is why my Executive Order on Digital Assets directed the Presidential Working Group to move forward on a Crypto Strategic Reserve that includes XRP, SOL, and ADA,” the president wrote, referring to three cryptocurrencies.
He added that Bitcoin and Ethereum would be the “heart of the Reserve.” https://tribune.com.pk/story/2532098/netanyahu-warns-hamas-of-unimaginable-consequences-if-hostages-not-released
Joe Lonsdale, co-founder of software company Palantir, criticized Trump’s announcement, claiming it is not the “proper, principled role of government” to finance a cryptocurrency reserve, according to Forbes. Lonsdale reportedly said it is “wrong to tax me for crypto bro schemes.”
